Aga Kubish ARE is a self-taught printmaker and fine artist based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK. She is originally from Poland and moved to North Somerset in 2018, where she developed a detailed and distinctive linocut style influenced by natural forms, architecture, and everyday quiet moments. Her work often features fine hatching and dotwork, drawing on traditional engraving aesthetics.
Aga began printmaking in 2021 and quickly found her place in the printmaking community. In 2022, she was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE). Her print Green House was added to the RE’s Diploma Collection, held in trust at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
In 2024, Aga opened the ‘Art Gallery & Studio by Aga Kubish’ in Weston-super-Mare as a one-year project focused on sharing and supporting contemporary print and fine art. Alongside her solo exhibition Silent Narratives, she curated five group exhibitions, creating space for dialogue between artists and the local community. After this year-long project, she chose to return her focus to studio work and family life.
Her work has received several awards, including the BA Print Prize at the Bath Society of Artists Annual Open Exhibition in 2024 and the Canns Down Press Prize at the RE Original Prints Exhibition in London in 2023. She has shown her prints at venues such as Bankside Gallery in London, the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, and the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath.
Aga’s wider interests include traditional bookbinding and plant photography, which occasionally find their way into her creative process.
