Somerset Art Weeks - Exclusive Tours around St Cuthberts Mill

*** Tours are now FULLY BOOKED ***
St Cuthberts Mill is opening to the public for the first time in recent history, giving exclusive tours of our historic paper mill during Somerset Art Weeks.
Normally as a working paper mill, the manufacture of our artists papers happens strictly behind closed doors at our site in Wells.

Applicants lucky enough to receive a special ‘golden ticket’ to visit St Cuthberts Mill, will be given an exclusive guided tour of a working 18th century paper mill in small select groups of up to 5 people. Visitors will hear a brief history of St Cuthberts Mill, and view the fascinating process of how the mill’s master papermakers create artists papers like Bockingford, Saunders Waterford, Millford and Somerset on a 100 year old paper machine.

Papermaking has a long history in Wells, with papers having been made since the 18th century, to today where St Cuthberts Mill is an internationally renowned business. This will be a strictly pre-booked ticket only event, that will follow a structured tour programme. To apply for a free ‘Golden’ ticket to see papermaking in action at St Cuthberts Mill, email Tickets are available in a first come first served basis.

Tours available on Mon 25th Sept, Wed 27th Sept, Thurs 28th Sept, Mon 2 Oct, Wed 4th and Thurs 5 Oct 2017.

St Cuthberts Mill is an 18th century working paper mill with uneven ground, steep steps, and slippery surfaces. Over 18’s only. No disabled access.
