Seeking to express his pictorial concerns, he found watercolour the best medium to make his paintings look fresh, full of spontaneity with fast execution. His main interest when it comes to painting is being able to capture both light and movement in the subjects he chooses, working with ease, enjoying the moment and whenever he can, painting his works directly in the environment.

Within the world of watercolour, he has participated in many exhibitions both in Spain and abroad and has won numerous painting contests. He quickly learned the importance of painting on a high-quality paper and uses Saunders Waterford. This paper is crucial for the performance of making a good piece of work, since it allows working with humidity, the edges of the brushstrokes and especially that the surface supports the different densities of pigment.

Miguel likes to work with Saunders Waterford 300gsm (140lb) 100% cotton paper, with its Rough texture, although for finer paintings he prefers the smooth HP paper.
